Foster City Housing Preferences and Priorities Survey
The City of Foster City is updating the Housing Element of its General Plan. A General Plan is the blueprint for meeting the community's long-term vision for the future. Under State law, California cities are required to update their Housing Element to plan for projected housing needs every 8 years. The Housing Element is a document that outlines the community's housing policies, goals, and programs, and identifies opportunities for new housing as mandated by the State. Foster City needs to plan for approximately 1,826 new housing units to be built in Foster City between 2023 and 2031.
As part of an ongoing community engagement process, we are inviting the community to fully participate in the Housing Element Update process. The goal of this survey is to gain a better understanding of community values and priorities, which will be used as a foundation for future conversations about possible solutions and housing policies. Feedback from the survey will help the City identify trends on housing preferences, needs, and future housing opportunities in the City. Your participation is valuable as it helps the City plan for its future!
One survey can be submitted per person.
